Barbaros Yachting offers a wide variety of
different dives including reefs, underwater caves, walls,
islands and night diving.The South Aegean and Mediterranean
coast of Turkey boasts a colorful variety of aquatic life.
Even experienced divers are astounded by the presence of more
varieties of sea creatures in greater numbers than they have
encountered anywhere else.
Gulf of Gökova an interesting location for divers which is
warm and calm waters, and free of tides and strong
currents.With visibility never less than 25m, divers can enjoy
marine life in its full glory, from shoals of parrot fish to
huge tame groupers, not to mention tuna, amber jack,
barracuda, moray eels, octopus and even the occasional monk
seal, dolphin or sea turtle.
Experienced divers will be in their element with a
variety of diving available. Rugged, volcanic offshore islands
provide some diverse locations including hot springs, caverns,
reefs and spectacular drop-offs. For those new to diving there
are many safe bays in the area providing the perfect setting
for a stress free introduction to scuba diving.
Diving tours are made under the supervision of
experienced diving instructors (dive masters), each of whom
hold licences endorsed by Turkish and international
authorities. Within the sea-shores of Turkey, scuba diving is
only permitted with the accompaniment of government-licensed
diving guides. Barbaros Yachting not only has diving tours
during the season, but also offers certification courses of
the worldwide known federations PADI, CMAS and
BARAKUDA for all levels, given by professional
instructors speaking English, French and German.
Note: Most part of the
underwater antique world is protected with the law. Thus you
can only dive with a professional diving guide.

DIVING
CHARTER |
You can enjoy scuba diving either taking a daily
diving tour during your yacht charter or join a private diving
charter. Dive charter enables you to make dives in different
locations everyday. Meanwhile, you can take a certification
course to improve your level of diving. To join a diving
charter, you should hire a yacht at a standard that you prefer
to sail with. We organize dive charters in Gulf of Gökova
where the Blue Cruise originated. Below is our weekly diving
charter programme:

BODRUM
- BODRUM (Gulf of Gokova) |
| 1. Day: Boarding the yacht in Bodrum harbour.
Welcome drink and information about the yacht and the tour
programme. Overnight in either in Bodrum harbour or Black
Island depending on embarkation time.
2. Day: Departure after breakfast. First stop by
Mersincik, on the south coast of the gulf. First dive in
Mersincik Island. Second dive in Mersincik Liman1 Burnu.
Departure to Knidos - Visit of the ruins; Agora, the theater,
the military harbour, The remains of a temple to Dionysos. The
temple is said to have been built by the architect Sostratos.
Temple of Aphrodite combined the two attributes of the goddess
of beauty and the protectoress of sailors, by whom she was
also worshipped. Acropolis, situated on the shore of Knidos is
the Bouleuterion. Hellenistic and Roman buildings can be also
seen. Overnight in Knidos.
3. Day: The morning dive will be between Mersincik
Liman1 and Körmen Liman1. Second dive in Körmen Inceburun
Feneri. Overnight in Çat1, a lovely bay surrounded with pine
trees on the south coast of the gulf.
4. Day: Departure to Yedi Adalar (Seven Islands).
First dive in Yedi Adalar shallows. Second dive in Yedi Adalar
Burnu. Overnight in either Yedi Adalar or Löngöz Bay.
5. Day: Departure to Sedir Island (Sedrai) Visit of
the island; the ruins are located on the eastern side of the
island, which Appears to be divided into two by a valley. The
remains of a Dorian temple to Apollo set on a platform.
Well-preserved theater, the remains of necropolises, Agora
walls and the Cleopatra - Beach can also be seen. First dive
in Koyun Burnu. Night dive and overnight in Tuzla Bay.
6. Day: Departure to Ören. First dive in Akbük
Burnu. Second dive around Ören Bay. Overnight in Çökertme bay,
the best anchorage here, is surrounded with pine and olive
trees and sheltered against the winds.
7. Day: Departure to Orak Island. First dive in
Güney Burnu. Second dive in Bodrum shallows. Departure to
Bodrum harbour.
8. Day: Disembarkation after breakfast. |
