What qualifications do I need to charter a bareboat? Which days of the week can I begin and end my charter? GENERAL FAQS
1. Which type of charter is suitable for us? Private Gulet Charter : Chartering a private gulet offers you ultimate in comfort, privacy and flexbility on the menu , itinenary, provisioning. The Gulet and crew are dedicated only to your party. On our fleet you can choose a gulet starting at minimum 3 cabins to 12 cabins for your party.Cabin Charter : If you have diffucilties to compose a group or if you want to be alone you can join one of our regular tours and charter one or more cabin. You will have a chance to meet people from all around the world while enjoying one of the most unique and relaxing holidays in the Aegean. As the Cabin Charter reservation continue until the last minute, we can give the boats name one day before the departure. The itineraries,menus and ports of embarkation and disembarkation for the Cabin Charters are fixed and cannot be altered. 2. What is included in charter fees?
Private Gulet Charter: Harbour taxes and Mooring expenses in Turkish waters. Yacht insurance. Diesel. Yacht's laundry. Using water. 24 hours crew service. Use of equipment on board. . Top3. What charter fees exclude?Private Gulet Charter: Harbour taxes and Mooring expenses in Greek waters, the meals, soft drinks, drinking water, alcoholic beverages, land excursions and airport transfer. Top4. What are the differences between Standard, High and De Luxe classes? Standart Class: In this category Gulets show the same special features as all others but within economic standards. Each cabin is equipped with private W/C and shower. Prices are economic. 5. Shall I embark and disembark from different bases? This may be possible except cabin charter, but you will be charged an additional cost. The cost varies according to the distance between the two harbours. Please ask for the one way supplements. 6. Do I need to buy insurance during the charter? ? Your charter agreement will detail insurance provisions: the yacht remains insured by the owner during your charter, however we advise all chatterers to consider cancellation and curtailment insurance. You may also consider Personal Accident or Medical Insurance plus Personal Effects Insurance, which is generally not included in the Charter Fee. 7. What is the charters' schedule? All charters begin at 15:00 on the day of departure and typically end at 10:30 on the day of arrival. Time is necessary between charters to ensure that yachts are always delivered to the next charter in perfect working order.If you have a baggage they can be saved in Barbaros Yachting Office. 8. Shall we visit some Greek Islands? We can design an itinerary that includes one or more of the Greek islands Please be aware that Greek port duties not included in the prices. Those fees must paid by charterer when entering Greek harbours. 9. Can we plan our own itinerary? It is possible for Private Yacht Rental but not in Cabin Charters tour. We will try to accommodate your requirements and desires, weather permitting. 10. What should be taken with? At least two swimming suit.High protection sun lotion, Sun protection cap, Protective lipstick, The attire should be according to warm (night) - hot (day time) empratures, Camera or/and handycam, Sun tan towels and personel towels. A memory book to note your happy moments.No shoes are allowed on board, just bring your sneaker or walking shoes for land cruising. 11. How many crew are on the Boat? It depends on the Yacht size.But normally 2 crew for 4 cabin yachts, 3 crew for 6-7 cabin Yachts and 4-5 crew for more than 8 cabin Yachts. 12. How much do I tip the crew ? A crew gratuity is both customary and discretionary. 5% of the base charter fee is usually the norm depending totally on your discretion. It is usually given to the captain at the end of the charter and divided equally among the crew members.You do not have to give a tip it depens on you. 13. Can we take babies on a Yachting Holiday? Yes, you can take babies on board for the Private Yacht Rental. 14. What do you do on a charter? Sunbathe, shop, surf, five sleep, jet-ski, eat, go to night clubs, fish, read, drink, , dance, swim , sail, relax, visit anxient cities, sing sea chanties, interact with your significant other, (or take advantage of the opportunity to just, "be alone"). No qualifications are required for skippered, crewed or gulet holidays. For skippered holidays you can assist in handling the yacht according to the skipper's instructions or you can just watch and relax with sailing. 16. Is smoking permitted on board? Smoking is not permitted inside the yachts for safety reasons and for the comfort of future charter guests. If you have heavy smoker you can smoke on deck. Yachts do not permit guests to bring pets on board for several reasons. Crew is required to maintain rigid cleanliness standards for all their guests and there is a potential of allergens from animals remaining on board. Animals are typically not accustomed to the strict confinement of a ship and an active cruising itinerary can be quite uncomfortable for pets. Just like humans, animals can also be sensitive to the effects of motion and may become disoriented or lethargic. 18. Can we bring snorkelling equipment? Certainly! It is actually advisable to bring your own snorkel. There are usually masks on board, however, you can never be sure how many people have used the snorkel before you. Scuba diving equipment is not advisable unless you have booked a scuba holiday. There are areas in the Aegean and Mediterranean where scuba is prohibited. 19. Can you cater special diets? We can cater all kind of special menu for Private Yacht Rental. In Cabin Charter only for vegeterians we serve alternative menu. 20. Can we bring our own drinks from outsite to boat. It is possible to bring your drinks from out site to boat for Private Yacht Rental. But it is not allowed to bring your drinks to boat for Cabin Charter. Drinks can be bought from Yacht' s Bar. 21. What is included in charter fee? All charter & berth taxes, transitlog, autopilot, end cleaning, base mooring fees, gas; water, bed linen equipments, dinghy with outboard. 22. What qualifications do I need to charter a sailing yacht ? There must be a captain and two amateur seamen who have qualified paper on the boat. If it is thought that passangers have not got the sailing qualification paper, Barbaros Yachting has right for not to accept them to the boat.If they need to rent a proffesional scipper. we can help them 23. Which days of the week can I begin and end my charter? Generally, It begins and ends on Saturdays for weekly Bareboat Charter. But we have also charter boat departure for Sunday and Monday. 24. What is the charters' schedule? All charters begin at 17:00 on the day of departure and typically end at 09:00 on the day of arrival. However you will be required to return to base on the last evening of your charter since this time is necessary between charters to ensure that yachts are always delivered to the next charter in perfect working order. 25. Shall I embark and disembark from different bases ? This may be possible, but you will be charged an additional cost. The cost varies according to the distance between the two bases. Please ask for the one way supplement fees. 26. Do I need to hire a professional skipper? Barbaros Yachting is in the position to select, recommend and hire on your behalf a professional skipper for as many days as you wish. Even if you are an experienced sailor, you may still require the services of a professional local skipper to make your cruise more relaxing and benefit from the skippers' local knowledge. There is a daily fee set at 100 Euro per day for the professional skipper regardless of the number of people on board. Please remember that the professional skipper needs in most cases to be provided with his own cabin, as he is obliged to sleep on board and take care of the safety of the yacht, regardless of charterer's presence. 27. I am at sea and in need of assistance. What do I do ? The safety of crew and yacht is your first priority, so if necessary use the VHF on channel 16 to ask for assistance. However, if at all possible, try to contact the base of company . Here you will find experienced sailors who know how to handle an emergency. 28. Can we sail to Greek Islands ? Yes, of course but to enter Greek waters you have to follow the procedure below: You must have the appropriate visa's to enter greece. The yacht must check out of Turkey from a main custom port and check into Greece in a custom port. When you want to leave Greek waters you must check out of Greece and check back into Turkey at a main port. Please note that you have to buy a new Turkish transit log. In case of the above procedure is not followed correctly by the charterer and if the yacht or charterer are fined all responsibilities belongs to charterer. In that case we Barbaros Yachting will not hold any responsibility If you list your requirements two to four weeks before your charter, your shopping will be brought directly to your yacht. You will be charged for the shopping at cost price. Barbaros Yachting get no extra charge for this service. 30. What will the weather be like? April, May and October's temperature range between 20 and 26 Degrees Centigrade and are much cooler than at the height of the season. Temperatures for June, July and August are hot, ranging form 30 to 38 Degrees Centigrade. It is not humid and you are very unlikely to see rain at the height of summer. 31. How can we arrange excursions? For the Private Yacht Rental we can organize a special land tour for you. In Cabin Charter tours you can join our regular Dalyan-Caounos tour or Village tour organization. 32. Will I experience seasickness? This situation is hard to predict. In fact you may be the best judge based on previous experience. If you are worried about seasickness check with your local pharmacist for special medication before you leave home. If you are new to yacht chartering, let the crew know; they will make your trip as comfortable as possible by recommending routes in protected waters and keeping tabs on changing weather conditions Yes, we can arrange all kinds of transfer depends on your wish. 34. Do you also make a hotel and villa reservation?
