Logistics & Technical

Poros is legendary for its long harbor situated along a narrow channel separating the island from the Peloponnese mainland. Navigation through the channel requires vigilance, especially regarding shallow patches and the constant ferry traffic. Yachts typically moor stern-to along the town’s long quay. The holding in the channel is excellent on a sandy and muddy bottom, though one must account for occasional currents. It offers superb protection against northern winds. For a quieter night at anchor, the northern Vagionia Bay or the southern Russian Bay provide magnificent surroundings and calm waters.
